Porto Maurizio è ubicato nel ponente ligure ed è località di interesse storico e turistico che dall’entroterra si sviluppa verso la marina, tra le più belle della riviera, per spiagge e mare.

Le aree disponibili alla trasformazione insistono sulla tratta a binario unico della ferrovia Genova-Ventimiglia dismessa a partire dal 2001, con una variante di tracciato, e più recentemente funzionali alla realizzazione della “ciclovia Tirrenica” tra Ventimiglia (IM) e Civitavecchia (RM). 

L’ambito dell’ex stazione ferroviaria si estende per circa 4.000 mq ed è situata su un rilevato ferroviario. Attraverso un sottopasso, che supera la via Aurelia, si raggiungono le zone del porto in cui insistono il Museo navale, l’area sportiva San Lazzaro, la sede della Guardia di Finanza e Capitaneria di Porto di Imperia. L’ipotesi di variante urbanistica concordata con l’Amministrazione Comunale prevede la destinazione a turistico ricettivo dell’intera area di stazione, comprensiva dell’ex magazzino merci e dei piccoli volumi quali l’ex edicola e portabagagli per un totale di circa 2.500 mq di cui 1.250 mq circa già esistenti.

Porto Maurizio is located in the west of Liguria and is a town of historic and tourist interest that, from the hinterland, develops towards the marina, among the most beautiful of the Riviera, for beaches and sea.

The areas available to the transformation insist on the single-track section of the Genoa-Ventimiglia railway abandoned from 2001, with a variant of route, and more recently functional to the construction of the "Tirrenica cycle route" between Ventimiglia (IM) and Civitavecchia (RM).

The area of the former railway station extends for about 4.000 square meters and is located on an railway takeover. Through an underpass, which crosses the Via Aurelia, you can reach the areas of the port where the Naval Museum, the Sports area of San Lazzaro, the Headquarters of the Guardia di Finanza and Capitaneria di Porto di Imperia. The hypothesis of urban variant agreed with the City Administration provides the destination for tourist accommodation of the entire station area, including the former goods warehouse and small volumes such as the former newsstand and luggage carrier for a total of about 2.500 square meters, of which about 1.250 square meters already existing.
