La cittadina ubicata nel ponente ligure in provincia di Savona è località di interesse storico e turistico che dall’entroterra si sviluppa verso la marina, tra le più belle della riviera per spiagge e mare.
Le aree disponibili alla trasformazione insistono sulla tratta a binario unico della ferrovia Genova-Ventimiglia dismessa a partire dal 2001, con una variante di tracciato, e più recentemente funzionali alla realizzazione della “ciclovia Tirrenica” tra Ventimiglia (IM) e Civitavecchia (RM).
Oltre alle aree per 8140 mq circa, sono disponibili superfici per circa 3.000 mq corrispondenti ai vecchi magazzini e uffici ferroviari. Da luglio 2023 è avviata una intesa tra ferrovie e Regione per la promozione di un accordo di programma per la trasformazione della aree lungo il tracciato ferroviario dismesso San Lorenzo al Mare – Andora L'ipotesi di variante urbanistica, in corso di approvazione, prevede la creazione di una struttura ricettiva di circa 3.000 metri quadrati con piscina e un’area commerciale di circa 600 metri quadrati.

The town, located in the west of Liguria in the province of Savona, is a town of historical and tourist interest that develops inland towards the marina, among the most beautiful of the Riviera for beaches and sea.
The areas available to the transformation insist on the single-track section of the Genoa-Ventimiglia railway abandoned from 2001, with a variant of route, and more recently functional to the construction of the "Tirrenica cycle route" between Ventimiglia and Civitavecchia (RM).
In addition to the areas for about 8140 square meters, there are surfaces for about 3,000 square meters corresponding to the old warehouses and railway offices. From July 2023 it is ongoing a Memorandum of Understanding between the Railways and the Region for the promotion of an Agreement for the transformation of the areas along the abandoned track railway between San Lorenzo al Mare and Andora. The hypothesis of urban variant, under approval, provides for the creation of a tourist accommodation of about 3,000 square meters with swimming pool and a commercial area of about 600 square meters.
