FS Sistemi Urbani is the leader company of the new Urban Business Unit of the FS Italiane Group and represents its gateway towards cities.

FS Sistemi Urbani aims at enhancing areas that are no longer needed for railway operations in order to give them back to citizens, who will thus be able to benefit from new services and places of aggregation without consuming additional urban land.
In carrying out its urban regeneration projects, the company has identified fundamental pillars: environmental, social and economic sustainability, intermodality, stakeholder engagement, the creation of urban centres on a human scale, reduced land consumption and close cooperation with institutional authorities. Most of the assets managed by FS Sistemi Urbani are located in strategic positions, close to railway stations and other mobility hubs such as ports or motorways, or in central locations whose redevelopment would make it possible to link up parts of the city that until now have not been able to communicate with each other, achieving the urban regeneration of underused or disused brown fields, for an innovtive urban development.
